A woman with long black hair, smiling, sitting on a stool with her chin resting on her hand, wearing a beige blazer, white top, blue jeans, and black open-toe heels, against a plain beige wall.

Hi, I’m Denise —
and I’ve been where you are.

Doing all the "right" things — eating well enough, moving my body, trying to stay consistent — and still feeling like something wasn't clicking. Not because I lacked information. Not because I wasn't trying hard enough. Because I didn't yet have the right framework for me.

That gap changed everything about the work I do today.

I'm a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, ACT Therapist, and Health Coach with over a decade of experience studying one thing: why people do what they do — and what actually helps them change. I earned my Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University, trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and hold certifications in nutrition coaching and personal training. But more than any credential, what shapes how I work is this: I've coached over 250 women, worked with hundreds of families, and spent years in clinical settings watching what actually moves people forward.

Spoiler: it was never more willpower.

I founded DEFINE because I knew there was a better way — one that brings the rigor of behavioral science into real, everyday life. Not a program you white-knuckle your way through. A partnership where we figure out your patterns, your environment, your version of alignment — and build from there.

Outside of this work, I'm someone who finds joy in the small things. Cooking a really good meal. Watching or playing sports. Dancing around my kitchen. Singing in the shower. Animals — always animals. And genuine connection — the kind of conversation where you leave feeling seen and a little lighter.

That energy is what I bring into every client relationship. Science and warmth. Credentials and humanity. Structure and levity.

Because the best coaching doesn't feel like coaching. It feels like finally having someone in your corner who actually gets it.

If that's what you've been looking for — you're in the right place.

My Approach

This isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s built around you. Your culture, your schedule, your preferences, and the season of life you’re in all shape how we work together. Food is personal. Training is personal.
The way you build consistency should be too.

My approach goes beyond physical change. It’s about how your body and brain work together, how your environment shapes your choices, and how to come back — again and again — in a way that actually fits your real life. What I build with you is individualized, practical, and grounded in behavior science. Not just something that sounds good in theory, but something that holds up on a Tuesday night when you’re tired and behind.
